Projects SALT
The mesmerizing SALT landscape was captured above Shark Bay, Australia in January 2017. To delve into the intricate geometric patterns of this abstract scenery, a small Cessna 206 airplane, was chartered and its doors removed. At crucial moments, the aircraft was tilted, thus eliminating perspective and enhancing the landscape's profound abstract beauty.
The crystalliser ponds of the peculiarly named Useless Loop were the focus of this project simply for their enchantingly delicate textures and otherworldly appearance. The series is printed on pearlescent paper, to convey the depth and movement of the scene; the salt crystals in shallow water reflecting the suns rays.
